Job Description
Our practice is currently seeking a full-time Nursing Site Supervisor to join our team!
This role is responsible for supervision of scheduling and clinical staff onsite, serving as backup support to the site team.
Site Supervisor Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement ongoing training program for scheduling and clinical staff
Provide daily supervision and oversight of scheduling personnel. Assist with performance evaluations, motivate and encourage, monitor productivity of staff.
Liaison to referring physician offices and hospital Endoscopy Departments
Along with the Clinical Nurse Manager, ensure adequate staffing and assign or reassign staff to provide adequate coverage of site operations
Acts as resource for staff when they encounter patient issues such as customer complaints or physician dissatisfaction with appointments and medical problems
Assures smooth workflow in the areas of scheduling, front desk, and referral personnel.
Triage Nurse Essential Job Responsibilities:
Talks directly to patients on the telephone.
Performs short evaluation of the patient situation to estimate severity of illness and/or injury including learning about chief complaint.
Determines urgency of seeing the patient based on brief assessment and on familiarity with a patient's condition and history.
Obtain appropriate clinical information from hospital/laboratory systems.
Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition.
Acts, when designated, in "Ask a Nurse" capacity, handling routine information requests from patients.
Consults with physician regarding medication adjustments, and other patient issues which do not require an office appointment.
Ability to understand and deliver results to patients and refill prescriptions.
Back up to scheduling and clinical roles with the medical office, assist with Pod box messages and general support to Pod 4, Hep C prior authorizations, and other project management assignments.
Education: LPN or RN degree; On-the-job training in triage for clinical and scheduling departments.
Experience: 2-3 years of experience as LPN or RN; minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a medical office setting, one to two years of clinical and scheduling triage experience, preferably in medical practice setting. Gastroenterology preferred, but not required.
Other Requirements: Current state RN or LPN license.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Light to medium duty. 20-50 pounds maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 10-25 pounds. Requires standing for long periods while sitting for others. Repetitive hand/arm movements. High volume of calls. Office setting. Occasional direct contact with patients.
