Job Summary

The Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Manager oversees all aspects of FSQR activities and programs at the site level. They act as the management representative for Quality and Animal Food Safety domains, ensuring customer satisfaction, adherence to legal regulations, and continuous improvement of systems and processes to guarantee product safety, legality, and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead FSQR activities for animal feed, water conditioning, and industrial-grade products at the site.

Serve as the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for applicable sites, ensuring compliance with FSMA and/or SFCR requirements.

Ensure compliance with specifications, customer, and regulatory standards.

Conduct investigations into consumer and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions as needed.

Oversee food safety and quality audits, including internal, third-party, and regulatory audits, and address any non-conformances.

Identify annual FSQR program and Animal Food Safety training needs for employees.

Foster a culture of Quality and Animal Food Safety at the sites.

Manage product disposition for held products.

Lead the Animal Food Safety Program Team to establish, implement, and maintain the Animal Food Safety Plan.

Maintain and update the site mock recall program and conduct traceability exercises.

Manage the Animal Food Safety and Quality Management System, including policy development and implementation.

Supervise quality laboratory testing and review/approve results.

Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process.

Conduct regular reviews of PRPs, GMP Compliance, and Sanitation/Housekeeping Compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food, feed, or USP manufacturing FSQR laboratory.

Strong knowledge of International Safety Protocol (ISP) and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), FDA FSMA, HACCP Programs, and USP regulations.

PCQI certification preferred.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage conflict and work effectively under pressure.

Proficient in presenting information to various stakeholders.

Physically able to perform duties in a plant environment.
