Industrial Painter General Scope: To prepare, prime and paint materials and machines.

Industrial Painter Position Summary:

• Will operate HVLP spray guns.

• Have knowledge of mixing and spraying enamels, epoxies and urethanes.

• Keeps all spray guns, equipment, Paint booths and shop areas clean.

• Prepare machines and materials for painting.

• Will operate forklifts.

• Have knowledge of rebuilding, tearing down and cleaning paint equipment.

Industrial Painter Education: One year certificate from college or technical school; or one year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in spray painting.

Industrial Painter Skills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in internal/external training programs to obtain the following skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
