Radiology Administration

Full Time

Night

Mon-Fri 11P-7A Weekend/Holidays as needed

Position Summary

The Inpatient Radiology Supervisor works under the direct supervision of the Radiology Technical manager and oversees the technical functions and day to day activities of the Radiology Department to ensure efficient and effective operations and quality patient care.&

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

1.& & & Understands and adheres to our Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.

2.& & & Coordinates resources and staff to ensure efficient, safe, and quality patient care activity.

3.& & & Communicates and ensures compliance with institutional/departmental policies and procedures, quality initiatives, and regulatory compliance.

4.& & & Manages staff schedules and collaborates with direct reports to ensure all modalities have proper staff coverage across all shifts.

5.& & & Prioritizes overall activities and assigns/delegates work to meet workload requirements; anticipates impact of special/emergency requests and needs and implements plans to meet daily expectations.

6.& & & Direct management of 25+ FTE’s.

7.& & & Manages the onboarding of new staff, timekeeping, and other managerial related duties identified by the Technical Manager of Radiology or designee.

8.& & & Performs mid-year and annual reviews on direct reports.

9.& & & Performs service recovery to address patient complaints and concerns.

10.& Rounds on patients to ensure wait times are within normal timeframes.

11.& Manages and collaborates with departmental leaders on patient satisfaction initiatives.

12.& Provides mentoring and coaching to direct reports and escalates issues to leadership appropriately.

13.& Evaluates and conducts routine productivity audits/ imaging audits to ensure accuracy and technical quality for all imaging procedures and provides feedback to the appropriate parties.

14.& Obtains, organizes, analyzes, and communicates departmental data trends and makes recommendations regarding departmental operations based on analysis.

15.& Maintains equipment needs; (reports and communications around downtimes, PM’s, Physicist testing, and maintenance) and maintains record keeping in collaboration with BioMed/Vendors.

16.& Review charge capture of imaging procedures and edit charge correction of supplies in EMR.

17.& Maintains all radiologic services in accordance with federal, state, local and regulatory agency requirements. Monitors ionizing radiation safety. Key member of the Radiation Safety Committee.

18.& Maintains all ACR applications and accreditations for your direct areas of oversight.

19.& Adheres to and maintains DOH, Joint commission, and ACR standards as outlined by these governing bodies in all modalities and direct areas of oversight.

20.& Participates in the preparation of yearly budgets of personnel, supplies and equipment.

21.& Clearly communicate, implement, audit, and educate staff on new processes into the department.

22.& Demonstrates courtesy, cooperation, and professionalism toward patients, co-workers, supervisors, physicians, and all hospital staff.

23.& Demonstrates good communication skills and displays an empathetic, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.

24.& Maintains a professional image and always follows hospital and departmental dress code.

25.& Demonstrates attentiveness toward details.

26.& Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the department.

27.& Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education Experience Requirements

The Radiologic Technologist must be graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital base program. NYS DOH license is required, ARRT(R). Previous lead or supervisory experience is required.

NEED TO HAVE SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE

Advanced ARRT Certification preferred, CT, Mammography, MRI, ARDMS or NMTCB.

Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet standards set forth by governing bodies. Current standards are 24 ECE credits over a two-year period.

BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Radiation dose pledge completed for both Image Wisely/Image Gently through the American College of Radiology (ACR), either during the orientation period or before end of the probationary period.

Demonstration of strong leadership qualities and exceptional interpersonal skills required.
