Job Description

The Area Associate Director of Leisure Sales is responsible for identifying and sourcing leisure business in accordance with the collection’s strategic plan to maximize room revenue during peak and nonpeak periods.

Area Associate Director reports directly to the Area Director of Sales and works closely with the revenue team to ensure that the leisure sales strategy is in line with properties business needs.

This role will support our four properties in Mexico: Etéreo in Riviera Maya, Chileno Bay Resort and Esperanza Resort in Los Cabos and Susurros del Corazon in Punta de Mita and Hacienda AltaGracia in Costa Rica, to make up Auberge - Latin America.

*The position is home based, with location preference of New York, New Jersey or Connecticut, with other Northeast locations considered secondarily.

Essential Functions

Oversee account and production goal in the assigned region.

Support the collection revenue goals by generating leisure business at each hotel Organize and schedule direct sales efforts via phone, email and in person... Average of 5 prospecting efforts per day are expected. (25 per week)

Evaluate and initiate opportunities for developing new sources of business.

Plan and execute a 12 month strategic business plan and play a key role in the development of the hotels leisure marketing plan

Build effective relationships with consortia accounts - AMEX FHR, Virtuoso, Signature, etc. as well as effective relationships with luxury travel agents in assigned territory.

Visit, present and effectively communicate the Cabo resorts to assigned territory.

Support the hotels wholesale account strategy

Support and participate in weekly Revenue Management Calls, scheduled conference calls with Area Director of Sales and property specific calls as needed.

Accurately maintain and build a Sales force database of clients.

Responsible for overall accuracy of the regional database.

Maintain ethical and professional standards of sales service.

Ability to work flexible days and hours

Provide positive, proactive engagement with the property hotel General Managers and Area Director of Sales and Marketing.

Provide feedback and goals and objectives in preparation of annual sales plans and budgets.

Ensure effective leisure pricing strategies are properly communicated to leisure clients.

Assist Area Director of Sales & Marketing as needed on corporate initiatives.

Develops regional planning and strategies to increase brand exposure.

Evaluates promotional events, trade shows, community and industry events to make sure attendance produces the proper return on investment.

Maintain customer, trade, industry and staff relations.

Assist DOSM in training and growth of coordinator position

Target key accounts to host familiarization trips to increase ROI

Work with tourism organization to maximize regional opportunities and buying powerQualifications

Required

Four year college degree or equivalent education/experience

Minimum 3 years sales experience in a related position in luxury hotel sales environment

Demonstrated record of driving sales revenues in hotel environment

Strong computer skills (Google Suite, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Social Media)

Full written and verbal fluency in English

Preferred

Prior experience selling multiple properties or brands.

Prior experience in international hotels/resorts

Prior experience working in a remote sales office setting.

Fluency in Spanish is also preferred.

Prior experience working with professional organizations that support leisure

Knowledge of GDS, Virtuoso.com, AMEX FHR Portal

Travel Requirements

Travel domestically and internationally to promote resorts to travel agents, at tradeshows and to the resorts.

Travel to resorts as requested for sites, meetings and travel professional related FAMs.

Travel for internal sales and marketing meetings.
