Product Design Engineer Site Lead

Requirements:

-Electrical engineer - 5 years experience

-Quality control experience for switchgear

-Fabrication Inspection experience

- Understand electrical engineering principles including switch gear, UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers. Understand mechanical engineering principles for cooling systems.

- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Engineering

- 4+ years of experience with new product design, development, product Certification and support manufacturing of power distribution equipment.

- Experience with low voltage (LV) distribution products with focus on switchgear, switchboards and panelboards. Switchgear design experience preferred.

- Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers/critical infrastructure or large scale mechanical and electrical plants.

- Value engineering: proven ability to reduce costs through creative solutions with no impact on quality and reliability (new designs, technology, or construction methods).

- Able to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings for all disciplines.

- Experience with large scale technical operations or large-scale compute farms.

- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including UL891, UL508, UL1066, UL1558, IEEE/ANSI C37, Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.

- Experience in controls and commissioning of large-scale projects.

- Need to have strong communication skills and project manager qualities

- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.

Plusses:

Background in Risk Analysis and/or Manufacturing

Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Day to Day:

Track CMf performance through Defect Per Unit ( DPU), Incoming Defect Rate (IDR), NCRs, and inspection reports to plot their

performance in order to help Owner determine if/when inspection waivers may be granted and to which level. Also, to work with

the CMf to drive down their defects and improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of their output.

Oversee the shipping and packaging of the complete units (along with a FOD inspection). Ensure proper waterproofing,

stability, offloading ability (after delivered), etc.

Work with Owner’s Project and Product Managers to understand understand deliver schedules and work with CMfs ensure

timelines are met.

Define data center system-level architecture, specify/document performance and equipment requirements, create/communicate conceptual designs, and create/maintain project documentation.
