(JAA) was founded in 1986 to focus on poverty reduction and sustainable, socially responsible economic growth for the purpose of assisting businesses, governments, non-profit organizations. Currently, our projects span across Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia, Colombia, Guyana, Pakistan, Nigeria, Congo, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Egypt. Since our foundation, we have worked in over 127 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. JAA’s technical expertise covers strategic planning, competitiveness, export growth, agribusiness, investment promotion, private sector development, financial analysis, and institutional strengthening. We are working to advise an incoming national government on their overall economic strategy and policy. We enable public-private dialogue between public, private, and civil society leaders.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management:
Backstop implementation of international economic development activities by providing administrative and technical assistance
Personnel management of long and short-term technical staff and consultants
Financial management of international economic development activities, including monitoring burn rate, tracking and projecting budgets, managing procurement of goods and services
Edit and/or compile research and other data for technical reports
Liaise with clients and manage professional relationships
Compile and share success stories and impact stories for JAA’s social media presence
Business Development:
Regularly check relevant websites for upcoming projects and opportunities
Evaluate upcoming proposals for firm strengths
Contribute to capture coordination, including desk research, recruitment of personnel, drafting corporate qualifications, participating in capture trips, and managing consortium partners
Systems Management:
Contribute to JAA’s website and LinkedIn content
Contribute to supervision of JAA’s interns
Support JAA’s organizational development efforts including systems improvements, file management, institutional knowledge building, etc.
Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public policy, economics, political sciences, law, international relations, or a related field.
1-2 years’ experience in international development or related field.
Demonstrated interest in working in international development, business development, agriculture/agribusiness, or related field
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Excellent communication and writing skills
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in English required
Proficiency in Spanish, French, or other foreign languages preferred
Working Relationships:
The Project Manager will work closely with Sr. Project Managers, Project Directors, other JAA HO staff, and local long and short-term staff. The Project Manager will work in person from JAA’s office in Clarendon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Project Manager will have regular check-ins with their supervisor.
