Position: Naval Architect and Marine Engineer

About Us: Carbon Ridge (“CR”) is a United States-based developer of carbon capture & storage solutions (CCS) for the Maritime industry. Onboard Carbon Capture (“OCC”) provides a low-cost and near-term solution to significantly reduce the intensity of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (GHGs) onboard large maritime vessels.
Job Summary: We are seeking a full-time naval architect and Marine Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will need at least 1 year of experience in the Maritime or Offshore industry, with at least one project involving structural modifications for a vessel. This person needs to know Class Societies' rules and Regulatory compliance for the project to be installed on a ship.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regulatory compliance verification (Flag and Class Society rule) for the project and ensure that the project meets the requirements.
Perform design review of ship modification, including changes to the General Arrangement, Fire and Safety Plan, and Structural DWG.
Design and prepare engineering reports and documents to be submitted to the yard and class society.
Evaluate design loads and accelerations for the modified structure.
Assist with the structural, piping, and equipment material specification, as well as necessary certifications required to be installed in a maritime vessel.
Assist with stability analysis for the ship modification.
Assist on yard activities, such as Welding Inspection, Equipment placement, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering (NAME).
In Lieu of a BS in NAME, a BS in another engineering and an MS in NAME will be accepted.
1 to 10 years of experience in the Maritime and/or Offshore Industry.
Be familiar with Class Societies' rules (ABS, DNV, BV, LR).

This position will report to the Lead Marine Engineer.
This position is equivalent to a Junior to Mid-level Engineer.
