Project Manager

Catalyst Consulting Group is a fast-growing IT consultancy in Chicago that has been servicing public sector clients for 30 years. We’re looking for a talented, inventive, passionate, and driven Senior Project Manager with an entrepreneur mind-set to lead large-scale technology-based implementations and ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and meets the high standards that we hold ourselves accountable for.

Key Activities

Create MS Project plan to keep the team and stakeholders informed and on track

Review and comment on project requirements and design documentation

Conduct standups and weekly meetings with key stakeholders

Be heavily involved in the QA process to assist with test plan creation, drive execution and validate the results

Assist with data analysis using MS Excel connected to various data bases and assist with validating data between various exchanges (or similar tools)

Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility

Ensure resource availability and allocation

Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs

Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

Report and escalate to management as needed

Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders

Perform risk management to minimize project risks

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Required Skills/Abilities

3+ years of Technical Project Management Experience inclusive of leading/overseeing the implementation of technical solutions

PMP / PRINCE II certification a plus

Salesforce Certifications a plus

CSM / PSM a plus

SAP ERP implementation experience a plus

Experience with JIRA and Confluence a plus

Great educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science or engineering for technical project managers

Experience working in an agile environment

Proven working experience as a project administrator in the information technology sector

Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies

Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

Experience working as a consultant in the public sector a plus

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Project
