Human Resources Director, Non-Profit, Washington, DC, Hybrid, Direct Hire Opportunity

Robert Half is servicing a reputable non-profit organization in Washington, DC looking for a permanent Human Resources Director. The ideal candidate will act as an employee champion and a leader of change. You will plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance.

Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and guidance by overseeing talent acquisition, employee career development, succession planning, retention programs, training and leadership development

Function as a strategic, human capital business advisor to the senior management team

Develop initiatives, policies and programs to complement existing practices and create consistency across the organization

Oversee benefit and compensation plans to ensure cost efficiencies and attractiveness to retain top talent

Strategically rethink the system of regular staff performance evaluations, from organizational competencies to feedback, and day to day manager/supervisee utilization, guiding the incorporation of the process into HRIS system, and provide guidance to managers to enhance the effectiveness of the evaluation process

Collaborate with CFO and COO on compensation and benefits philosophy, including annual benefits selection and open enrollment process, and serve as back up to People Department Senior Manager on bi-weekly payroll run as needed

Own HR department budget, manage contracts, as well as direct responsibility for invoice and reimbursement oversight and approvals

Qualifications

8+ years of HR Generalist experience with 2 years as a manager or above

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

Relevant HR certification is preferred (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP)

Comprehensive knowledge and experience in HR Compliance and HR Policy formulation

Demonstrable experience in Benefits Administration and Compensation & Benefits

Ability to develop and implement HR Strategy aligned with organizational goals

Strong skills in Performance Management and employee evaluation
