Job Summary

Exela’s proposal writers occupy a vital position in our business. We are interested in finding highly-motivated individuals to join the proposal writing team to take on an essential role that brings together opportunity owners (sales) and solutions experts and positions our content to drive winning proposals.

This role requires strategic-thinking, keen organization, detail oriented skills, and a desire to grow within global organization. This is an unparalleled opportunity to take on the challenge of crafting proposals for multi-million dollar deals, develop as a writer and project manager, gain valuable business exposure, and help bring Exela’s proposal standards to the next level.

The proposal writer must have excellent communication and writing skills to guide sales teams in developing a clear response strategy and writing customer-focused RFP responses and presentations. This position is critical to developing compelling content by translating requirements, sales strategy, and solutions into compliant, customer-ready documents. All suitable candidates shall submit writing samples.

This role requires a proactive approach to all projects and an ability to work independently without close oversight from management – must be a proven self-starter. The ability to document and communicate problem/resolution and information/action plans is also essential.

This position will work closely with internal product, sales, business strategy, client relations and delivery teams to ensure the quality, consistency and accuracy of content. Strong interpersonal skills are required to effectively interact with opportunity team, management, and peers.

Job Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end sales bids (RFI, RFP, RFQ,) response process to ensure all expectations, actions, and timelines are understood and met, and milestones tracked

Interpret sales bid requirements and oversee compliance, and proposal reviews

Guide opportunity team in developing proposal win themes and reflecting them throughout the proposal

Write, edit, and format proposal documents so that they are accurate, well-written, and persuasive

Develop slides for sales bids follow-up presentations, quarterly business reviews, and similar

Continuously improve the proposal content and process through best practices

Maintain newly created content in a centralized knowledge repository

Qualifications

Two or more years of proposal management experience

A bachelor’s degree in business administration, English, communications or related field

Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Project management experience

Successful candidates will have a “can-do” attitude and possess:

A deep understanding of the proposal management / sales bid process

Excellent writing and communication skills

Extensive working knowledge of document production software

Ability to work under time constraints

Ability to work effectively with a team

Strong project management skills

Even better if you have:

Technical writing experience

APMP certification

PMP certification

Enterprise-level experience

Technology, business process outsourcing, business process automation experience

Ariba experience (or related online portal)

Ovidian experience
