We have a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer V with 3D modeling experience and a strong attention to detail.

Primary Purpose:

The Mechanical Engineer V is responsible for evaluating and leading product design concepts, development of mechanical concepts, and generating final mechanical drawings for products and/or manufacturing tooling. This position supports the activities of both engineering and production / manufacturing.

Job Description:

As required by the business, works with various equipment and disciplines to increase production, quality, efficiency, volume and/or environmental suitability.

Possesses in-depth and broad technical knowledge throughout the area of specialty. Possesses unique ability to apply new technology or existing technology in creative ways to assigned product areas.

Provides technical leadership to other engineers within FNA/CRX and develops unique and original solutions to complex technical problems or issues.

Has broad latitude for unreviewed technical action and decision.

May represent the company in negotiations with vendors and suppliers.

Performs such individual assignments as his supervisor may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Required:

In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and disciplined in their application.

Knowledge is typically evidenced by a minimum of a bachelor's degree in one or more of the engineering sciences.

Typically has 10 or more years of progressively more difficult assignments and is an accepted expert in his/her field.

10 plus years of engine and fuel system calibration experience.

Hands on experience with machining, metal fabrication, and plastics.

Strong effective communicator both verbal and written.

Ability to work in a fast pace environment of constant change.

Self-directed individual who works well within a team environment.

Preferred:

Previous experience in the Outdoor Power Equipment or Power Tools industry is a plus.

Experience working in a multi-channel retail business/industry.

5 to 15 years in a product design or manufacturing technical role.

Education/Certification:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a similar discipline.
