Job Title: Project Manager

Food Safety Role & Responsibility:

As an individual, the incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Bloodborne Pathogens.

The Plant Manager works with the Human Resources to provide feedback to staff members to improve productivity.

Assure that staff managers have a solid understanding of employee involvement and team operating principles.

Assure that a positive environment is maintained which assures employee retention and on-the-job productivity.

Create a culture of conversations using Performance Management Tools to build a high-performance team.

Summary of Engineering

Provide engineering support for multiple projects requiring layout, installation, controls, and mechanical, coordination and cross communication between contractors, production, QA, Safety and HR.

Job Function Statements - Essential Functions:

Coordinate with Contractors for equipment specs, quotes and design.

Act as Project Lead for specific projects within the facility.

Manage and assign work to outside contractors performing layout design, programming and installation work.

Develop project specifications and gain approval for capital and expense projects while demonstrating a ROI of all capital projects.

Works with production on startup and training of new equipment and systems.

Provide support to plant maintenance groups including packaging, buildings and grounds, and utilities.

Evaluate Plan specs for optimal Food Safety, Safety, and Production efficiencies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Computer literate (MS Office: Excel, Word and Power Point)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written

Proficiency in MS office & AS400 software

Understanding of Inventory management, CMMS system, Mechanical Systems, TPM, Lean Manufacturing,

Ability to work in a fast paced environment

BA/BS Degree in Related Field

Ability to work in to work in a noisy, wet and cold environment of approximately 36 degrees Fahrenheit

Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:

Food Manufacturing Experience a plus

Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years' experience

Education/Training:

BA/BS Degree in Related Field (or equivalent experience)
