Job Title: Production Specialist

Department: Production

Reports to: Head Brewer

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Wage: $28-$35 / hour DOE

Summary:

This position is responsible for completing assigned daily tasks including but not limited to batch brewing, running clean-in-place (CIP) systems on brewery equipment, centrifuge operation, yeast harvesting, basic laboratory measurements for quality assurances, general cleaning, and providing packaging support from time to time . You have a very important role in our production process that requires a strong focus on adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), high-quality standards, and collaborating with all production staff to achieve production goals.

Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Act as the technical and practical expert for daily brewing activities.

High proficiency and accuracy on brewing, beer transfers from fermenter to brite tank, CIP across all production operations and dry hopping.

Fermentation tracking and management, yeast handling.

Accurately measure gravity, pH, and DO

Maintain accurate and complete recordkeeping of all batches

Perform sensory evaluation of beer throughout the brewing process.

Assists in packaging products in a variety of formats including kegs, bottles, and cans.

Operates production and warehouse equipment safely.

Seeks continuous improvement opportunities across all production activities.

General cleaning of all production areas.

Maintains clean exteriors of all cellar and brewhouse tanks.

Performs general maintenance on equipment.

Operates the brewhouse, centrifuge, glycol chiller, and other cellar equipment according to Track 7 SOPs.

Ability to train general production workers to help grow the skillset of the production team.

Works closely with Head Brewer to ensure all tasks are completed satisfactorily on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one or small group situations to customers, clients or other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required Education and Experience

Two years of experience operating equipment appropriate to position under field conditions, or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

Prior cellar experience in a brewery.

Preferred Education and Experience

Forklift operating experience. Centrifuge and packaging line experience. General QA/QC experience.

Equipment:

Forklift and pallet jack experience is a plus. Centrifuge, scissor lift, process pumps, air compressor.

Knowledge, Skills & Ability:

We are industrious at Track 7. This position requires a hard-working individual who is able to take direction well. This person needs to be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with the entire production team and understand how each job directly affects others. They need time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks according to the needs of the production team. This person must have a flexible schedule as we rotate between days of operation and primary roles from time to time. Must be able to handle being on your feet for hours at a time. Needs the ability to multitask, and work well under time sensitive situations. Working knowledge of cellar and professional brewery equipment is essential.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position regularly scheduled to work a state approved alternative work week of 4 nine hour days a week. Available schedules include Wednesday to Sunday, Tuesday to Saturday, and Monday to Friday with varying start times depending on production needs.
