The Sr. Engineering Technician oversees laboratory equipment management, ensuring calibration and maintenance meet industry standards. This role leads projects through testing and validation phases, utilizing assembly skills. The technician also troubleshoots technical issues, maintains test stations, and compiles test reports.

Essential Job Functions

Maintain and manage laboratory equipment: Ensure the lab is set up correctly and all equipment is properly maintained.

Conduct testing and validation: Run test cases involving hardware, firmware, or functional integration, and generate test reports.

Manage prototype projects: Act as a project manager for prototypes, overseeing their construction to ensure they meet design specifications.

Support design and development: Assist in design and development processes by handling board check out and testing, allowing engineers to focus on further developmental challenges.

Perform third-party evaluation tests: Execute complete third-party evaluation tests in-house to confirm prototypes meet required standards before external submission.

Set up test stations and integration systems: Establish and maintain integration test systems and test stations to ensure functionality and readiness for further testing or production.Requirements:

Education: Relevant technical school degree or associate degree, or equivalent military experience.

Technical Experience &Skills:

15+ years’ experience as engineering and lab technician

Project management

Exceptional organizational habits and skills

Testing and validation

IPC Certified Soldering or Equivalent Experience

Troubleshooting and problem-solving

Soft Skills:

Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and follow-up skills.

Solid problem-solving skills. Highly technical, quickly grasping how things work. Presents technical concepts, ideas, and information in terms that both engineers and non-engineers can understand.

Motivated by continuous learning and development.

Functions well in a small company/startup environment. (High visibility, accountability and development velocity)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and collaboratively with a cross functional team.
