Job Description
CNC Lathe Machinist position
Duties & Responsibilities:
Set-up, edit, and operate CNC lathes to produce finished parts.
Develop a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications.
Manual lathe programming experience preferred.
Operate cranes and forklift.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Monitor machine tool during production to ensure it is functioning properly.
Follow print specifications and setup sheet.
Follow work orders as required.
Follow all ISO and AS quality processes, procedures, and standards for job tasks.
Must keep work area and machines clean and orderly.
Qualifications:
Ability to use precision instruments including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
Experience with setup and operation within a job shop environment.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to apply geometric and trig functions to solve machining calculations.
Knowledgeable of all machine functions as well as G & M codes to evaluate new programs.
Understand and apply precision measuring instruments and other technical documentation.
Be familiar with cutting conditions and the necessary work holding requirements to properly support and locate a part.
Ability to read/interpret prints and understand geometric tolerances.
Physical Demands: Employees are regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
