What is the Lead Business Systems Analyst – Project Support & Shared Svcs group responsible for

The Lead Business Analyst, Shared Services Support PMO is an expert in many FTS business processes and FTS core systems. The Lead Analyst uses this expertise of FTS processes including NAV stream, Security Maintenance, Pricing, Corporate Actions, reconciliation and Performance, to collaborate with partners, analyze business problems and recommends technical and non-technical solutions. This knowledge is used to support the most complex queries from business units on information within the production environment, system enhancements, and with the identification and correction of system bugs. Expertise is also used extensively in support of high complexity initiatives contributing to FTS Corporate Priorities including large changes to core systems and adapting system to changes in Products, the marketplace, and regulatory environment. The Lead Business Analyst will be responsible and accountable for the delivery and quality of business logic enhancements and project efforts. The Lead Business Analyst will ensure that this change is consistent with the end to end system blueprints and meets ongoing business needs. The Lead Business Analyst provides the PMO Management team with highly efficient business/systems solutions by capturing, documenting and utilizing FTS knowledge assessing operational needs to improve efficiency, workflow and cost reductions in achieving FTS goals. These solutions are based on integrated business knowledge, and take into account impacts on multiple upstream and downstream groups needs for data, governance and controls.

The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for guiding and developing skills and knowledge of the Sr BA and BAs within the team.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Lead Business Systems Analyst - Project Support & Shared Svcs responsible for

Business Unit Consultation

Collaborate with business partners to gather and document business processes and translate into systems requirements. Act as Expert in FTS Business processes and core systems analyzing and reviewing complex business/system requirements.

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert of core FTS Business and core system functionality to identify and qualify business development opportunities and recommend system design solutions which resolve critical business process issues and support strategic and operational goals.

Review new initiatives assessing impact to business process, improvement opportunities, organizational sustainability, risks and challenges as well as impacts to other in process or planned initiatives. Identify functionality changes or enhancements that may be needed or missed from solution documentation.

Act as consultant bridging gap of understanding between the FTS business unit and FTT considering business requirements, data constraints, business rules, models of strategy and motivation, processes, accountabilities, and other business and IT operational needs.

Consult with business partners to identify their knowledge gaps in core system functionality and impacts to business processes; facilitate training sessions to educate users.

System Enhancements And Implementation

Participation in Project lifecycle which may include meetings regarding CBAs, Charters, Project Plans.

Ensure that all enhancements are designed in a manner consistent with the enterprise-wide application and control environments current and anticipated future needs.

Coordinate and lead communication with users, System Administration and/or FTT team members to implement system changes.

Partner with FTT to obtain appropriate development Systems for Testing

Coordinate pre-UAT Testing of complex initiatives.

Maintain clear testing documentation for audit trial and reference for future projects.

Lead Monthly Release Testing for bugs/enhancements, working closely with FTT. - Communicate business benefits to business units. Resolve complex testing issues with users and project team.

Ensure Development Environment changes to production are ready for implementation (e.g. rules, reports, account set ups etc) and provide necessary sign off on release IDs.

Assist users with post implementation issues.

Responsible for ensuring that documentation on all complex system changes is included within structured documentation of FTS system business logic, and changes to business logic within FTS systems and ensuring PMO WIKIs are updated.

Business Support/System Support And Solutions

Review/monitor queue to ensure items are getting resolved. Address escalated items

Create complex functional and report specifications for systems and applications

Pull and format data information from systems for Business Unit metrics.

Act as a subject matter expert on internal systems and middle and back office processes on the most complex business and systems issues

Address complex user system and process queries

Identify System bugs/enhancements & compile write ups. Collaborate with FTT/Business to ensure awareness & assign appropriate business priority levels. Establish workaround if needed.

Review, develop, produce and/or analyze management reports for monitoring process efficiencies and effectiveness as applicable

Maintain existing systems reports & advise business of best solution for amendments/new requests. Create complex functional and report specifications for systems and applications.

Facilitate discussions to identify root causes of business or technical problems

Use business expertise to recommend solutions to complex business support inquiries where required

Lead resolution to Critical Production issues including high severity issues and Disaster Recovery.

Leadership And Mentoring

Coaches/mentors others in the team on FTS systems functionality and impact to Business processes.

Coaches/mentors other analysts in complex data analysis & techniques, provides insight into patterns found in data within FTS Systems and develop system and business skills and knowledge.

Coaches/mentors other analysts to develop their understanding of the overall business logic and information architecture that exists within FTS Systems

Promote adoption of FTI Project lifecycle, tools & best practices

Assists others to remove system challenges & overcome obstacles to meet deadlines/support the business.

Acts as a source of system, data and workflow expertise to team members & other areas (e.g. business, FTT, PMO)

Workflow Analysis

Gather and document business processes/systems requirements.

Make recommendations for implementing improvements related to business processes.

Analyze workflow and propose improvements.

Review, develop, produce and/or analyze management reports for monitoring process efficiencies and effectiveness as applicable.

Other Duties

Maintain good working relationships with project team members, internal customers and partners, and external service vendors.

Perform other duties as requested by PMO Management

Share System knowledge with Business Analysts & train where required.

Complete tracking for own IPP

Provide IPP feedback on individuals they have guided.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful

Bachelor's degree / associate degree or 8 to 10 years of relevant experience

Advance knowledge of Dimension, IM Actions, Business Objects and familiarity with other FTS Core Systems, System workflow & System Data from a business architectural perspective is a requirement.

Knowledge of Aladdin platform will be an added advantage.

Advanced knowledge or experience in business analysis for projects, working with financial and /; or securities systems and related reporting tools.

Technical writing/training where required.

Advanced knowledge of investment management operations, systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Advanced knowledge to perform computer systems analysis, development, and conversion of data.

Advanced knowledge of Securities, financial services, or accounting industry

Work Shift Timing - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
