Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Networking and Firewall Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our network infrastructure and firewall systems to ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of our organization's IT environment.

Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

Implement and manage firewall policies to safeguard our network from unauthorized access, intrusions, and cyber threats.

Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network configurations for maximum efficiency and uptime.

Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in networking and cybersecurity.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience working as a Networking and Firewall Specialist or in a similar role.

Expertise in configuring and managing network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols, subnetting, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).

Hands-on experience with firewall technologies, such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, or Juniper SRX.

Familiarity with network security concepts, including access control lists (ACLs), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security policies.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse complex network issues.

Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
