What are we looking for?

Turnwell Mental Health Network is looking for an experienced, compassionate, and skilled Billing Specialist to support a growing multi-provider practice. This role requires an individual with a high level of organizational, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, as well as attention to detail, flexibility, and maturity.

Turnwell is seeking an individual with a history of proven success and the ability to work well with medical providers, support staff, and patients in a supportive, enjoyable, and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate has experience with mental health and/or primary care coding, competency with current ICD/CPT codes, and excellent communication skills.Requirements:

Responsibilities:

Identify and resolve patient and insurance billing issues.

Verification of benefits for various service lines.

Follow-up on denied, appealed, and re-consideration of claims.

Patient AR: collect outstanding accounts, process payments, and discuss insurance & billing questions.

Update insurance payor information and profiles.

Support Clinical Staff, Physicians, and Front Office Staff with questions regarding insurance policies, authorizations, and payments.

Understand insurance processes, productivity, aging, and revenue cycle reporting.

Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and patient confidentiality.

Answer incoming patient and insurance calls.

Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance Payors, Workers Compensation, and Managed Healthcare

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Previous experience with medical billing software systems is preferred.

Experience working in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Preferred Education and Experience

Knowledge of patient registration, charge entry, billing, and medical policies.

Strong organization, problem-solving, and error-detection skills.

Ability to review and interpret patient bills and explanation of benefits (EOBs)

Identify incorrect data and have the skills to make the appropriate corrections.

Independent worker with strong attention to detail.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred: accredited/certified biller/coder with mental health billing experience.
