Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.

We are currently seeking a full time Counselor for our Opiate Treatment Program; utilizing best practice in providing Medication Assisted Treatment for substance abuse disorders. This individual is responsible for day-to-day treatment and programming for patients participating in the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides training and education to peers related to essential duties.

Provides leadership coverage when the OTP Clinical Manager is on PTO.

Develop individualized counseling, treatment and recovery programs that help to establish healthy behaviors and provide coping strategies.

Complete assessments, including SUD/ mental health assessments, and intake procedures for patient admission, as needed

Satisfy patient engagement (productivity) requirements.

Identify and evaluate a patient’s strengths, weaknesses, problem areas and need for the development of an individualized treatment plan; evaluate and monitor patient progress on an on-going basis.

Provide group patient counseling and treatment.

Provide case management services.

Provide crisis intervention services

Provide training on professional counseling matters to staff members.

Present educational programs in a group setting on such topics as: the disease of chemical dependency, AIDS, special population recovery issues, relapse, 12 step recovery, and family recovery issues.

Facilitate patient referrals when indicated.

Facilitate consultation with other professionals when indicated.

Complete required patient record documentation within the specified time.

Participate in regular patient staffing with appropriate treatment facility staff.

Develop and maintain liaisons with agencies to assist patients with accessibility to community resources.

Present community education and awareness programs to the public, as requested.

Orient patients to guidelines governing the program.

Randomly monitor drug use among patients by using available urinalysis process.

Work flexible hours depending on patient care and programmatic needs.Requirements:

Position Qualifications:

A Bachelor ’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field and one year as a Counselor or equivalent paid social service experience; Prefer Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work and/ or Rehabilitation Counseling

Maintenance of active status of a LCDC III, LSW, LPC, LPCC or LISW, including annual educational requirements.

Knowledge of the disease of chemical dependency and recovery including knowledge of family disease and recovery support groups.

Computer proficiency and literacy.

Valid driver’s license and insurance.

The ability to work with minimal supervision and to maintain discretion and sound judgment always.

Ability to write clear, concise, accurate notes, and compliance with all confidentiality laws and standards.

Ability to work effectively with a interdisciplinary team approach to treatment.
