Job Title: Mechanical Engineer 2

Location: Bangaluru or Coimbatore

Responsibilities

Participate in the conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation, and test/validation of hardware associated with new semiconductor equipment.

Design and develop mechanical components and mechanisms for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Design parts using metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, advanced coatings/plating, and so on.

Work with potential suppliers to ensure parts can be manufactured per performance and cost objectives.

Conduct feasibility studies and perform analysis to assess the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.

Knowledge of machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication processes

Assist in the development of new processes and techniques to enhance the efficiency and performance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Review of Design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracy

May develop and execute test plans that generate characterization data sufficient to understand and validate the performance of the design.

Develop and present reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation at design reviews.

Collaborate with other departments for design review, procurement, and assembly of mechanical components/ equipment.

Work with appropriate departments to ensure that design specifications meet or exceed all applicable regulatory standards.

Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders.

Ensure documentation is consistent with SEMI, other standards as applicable (ANSI, DIN, etc.), as well as best-known methods for GD&T; accordingly, demonstrates knowledge and ability to properly utilize them.

Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that arise during the manufacturing, build, and testing process.

Application of Strength of materials, Theory of Machines, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Fluid flow principles to solve engineering problems.

Create an ECO and coordinate with internal personnel to ensure smooth implementation.

Requirements & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with relevant experience of 3-5 years.

Proven experience working with mechanical systems, preferably in the semiconductor industry.

Proficient in CAD software for design and simulation purposes.

Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in the semiconductor industry.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical components.

Knowledge of various automation parts like actuators, sensors, valves, and so on.

Knowledge of various Materials and their applications.

Experience with Gas Panel/Gas Box design/Vacuum Chamber Design is a plus.

Proficient in the use of SolidWorks PDM preferred.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work well in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision.

Ability to think out-of-box.

Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and mentor others.

Regarded as a technical expert in their field.
