About The Role
Being part of the BMS applications engineering team is an exciting opportunity to help bring state of the art battery monitoring, wireless communication, and control systems to market in electric vehicles and other energy storage systems worldwide.
A BMS system solution consists of ADI integrated circuits, system hardware, software and algorithms, RF networking, security, functional safety and more. An Applications engineer is in a unique position working on SW product development as well as directly interacting with customer applications. This role offers excellent opportunities for personal growth and allows you to own and develop projects that integrate BMS software solutions for our customers.
Job Activities
Here are some of the important activities the software applications engineer will lead.
Enable Customer’s integration of wireless & wired BMS products by developing proof-of-concept demos, system prototypes, software tools and product integration examples
Understand complex Automotive OEMs and Tier1s application ecosystems and support the integration of ADI systems and software products
Serve as technical leader on projects to solve challenging problems and develop new features.
Design, develop and debug Automotive Embedded Software and ADI BMS system software solutions
Develop proof-of-concept demos, system prototype software stacks, and software tools (e.g., GUIs, debuggers) to enable software integration and evaluation of BMS products in customers’ systems
Lead technical discussions with key stakeholders
Analyse, model and simulate system operation
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers
Required Qualifications:
BS or MS degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with at least 10 years of experience
Experience in real-time embedded C/C++ software development
A general understanding of communication protocols & interfaces between devices (for example: CAN, LIN, I2C, UART and SPI, Wireless protocols, etc)
Experience using debuggers, oscilloscopes, JTAG, logic analyzers, etc
Experience with software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes)
Proven record providing technical leadership and guidance to other teams, enabling them to achieve their goals and deliver impact
Knowledge of Battery Management Systems
Experience with AURIX™ Development Studio
Proficient in scripting languages, such as Python
Experience with automotive middleware, including Classic AUTOSAR
Comfortable working with embedded system hardware
System modelling and simulations (Matlab & Simulink)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Synopsys Virtualizer™
Experience in formal Automotive SW development and functional safety development processes, such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, etc
