Lead Inspector

About the Company:

The company specializes in aerospace products, including precision hydroformed and mechanically formed metal bellows and pressure switches for hydraulic, fuel, oil, and pneumatic systems. It also produces rotary actuators for air management systems.

Responsibilities:

Inspect machined parts from manufacturing, measuring components with tolerances as fine as 1/100 to 1/1000 of an inch.

Record data and handle final assembly of components.

Evaluate pneumatic and electrical pressure switches for heavy industrial machinery applications, with clients like Caterpillar, major airlines, and NASA.

Adapt to work with switches exposed to extreme temperature variations and demanding environments.

Knowledge of electrical connections to switches preferred; training provided as needed.

Understand pneumatic controls.

Utilize testing equipment such as comparators, verniers, micrometers, and occasionally work under microscopes.

Operate MS Access-based software connected to testing stations for switches up to 6000 psi, managing data on switch manufacturer, tester, and performance.

Use bar code tracking technology for data management.

Requirements:

High School diploma, with technical school or apprenticeship preferred.

At least 5 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with switches (electrical and pneumatic), actuators, and hydraulics.

Proficiency with measuring tools including comparators, verniers, micrometers, and microscopes.
