interim Assistant Controller

Job Description

We are offering an opportunity in the High Tech - Pharm/Biotech industry located in Westlake, Texas. The role is a temporary Assistant Controller position, providing essential support to the accounting team during a transition period. Hybrid work schedule: 3 days onsite in Westlake, TX 76262/2 days at home (Mon/Fri at home). This is a 4-6 month contract position.

Interim Assistant Controller (contract):

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to the accounting team and Financial Planning & Analysis Director during the transition of the Controller

• Engage in the knowledge transfer process from the outgoing Controller

• Learn and adapt to the ERP and closing process for identified specific tasks

• Support the accounting team to ensure that financial closing is done on time and to a high quality standard

• Participate in the financial closing activity to help distribute workload among the team

• Assist in the transition process when a new Controller is hired

• Utilize accounting software systems and tools such as ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Great Plains (GPAC)

• Perform various accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and auditing

• Participate in budget processes and maintain strong data skills, particularly in Excel

• Adapt quickly to new IT tools and systems, and bring experience in a manufacturing environment

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

CPA or CMA certification is a plus

10 years experience in Accounting

Strong data skills / advanced Excel

Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

Experience in accounting management full scope (AP, AR, GL, CAPEX, Tx, T& E)
