We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in Norfolk, Virginia. This role involves managing payroll operations for our team and assisting in payroll implementation. The successful candidate will have a strong background in payroll management and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and various payroll systems like ADP and Ceridian.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee all aspects of payroll administration
• Assist with the implementation of new payroll systems
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to manage and analyze payroll data
• Work with ADP, Ceridian, and other payroll systems to ensure accurate payroll processing
• Resolve any payroll-related issues or inquiries in a timely and effective manner
• Monitor and audit payroll transactions for accuracy
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and accurate payroll operations
• Keep up-to-date with the latest payroll trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, payroll systems, and data analytics.
• Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information.• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in payroll software, including ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now.
• Experience with Ceridian software is preferred.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Extensive knowledge of payroll systems and procedures.
• Excellent ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of labor legislation and payroll taxes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven experience with report writing and payroll-related documentation.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
