JOIN OUR TEAM!

Under the guidance of the Director of Property Management, the Housing Support Specialist assesses the client's eligibility for Vera French Housing. Conducts daily leasing activities including attaining occupancy goals in leasing and retention, building rapport to generate interest, desire and satisfaction in Vera French Housing; provides excellent customer service to tenants; accurately completes lease paperwork and all other duties pertaining to leasing, tenant and prospect activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Collaborate with Property Management Coordinator and Director of Property Management to ensure prospect eligibility for housing.

Calculate rents and utility allowances for income-based units, ensure compliance, and complete all necessary paperwork.

Assist with screening prospects and complete income verification of applicants.

Assist with leasing.

Maintain and coordinate property keys and security.

Provide on-going tenant education regarding housing needs.

Communicate with tenants and potential tenants to ensure applications are processed, all internal protocols are completed, and leases are fully executed and renewed as applicable.

Comply with HUD regulations.

Assist with tax credit regulations and requirements,

Maintain an organized filing system for reports, leases and paperwork.

Facilitate annual rent increases.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

A minimum 2-year degree in business, bookkeeping, compliance, property management or equivalent experience is required.

Experience with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, knowledge of Section 8, and HOME funds

Knowledge of Property Software, Outlook and Microsoft

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Organizational skills to enable effective management of multiple, shifting priorities.

Ability to perform in a busy, changing, multi-tasking work environment.
