Requirement: To work: 40 hours within a 6-week period which includes a Friday, Saturday and Sunday shift

Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital is a single-specialty surgical hospital in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Our hospital was developed by Rothman physicians to provide their patients high quality and patient-focused care. Our facility features 6 fully-equipped operating rooms and 24 in-patient rooms. We are equipped for joint replacements, orthopedic surgery, pain management and spine surgery, as well as sports medicine, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow, and hand and wrist procedures.

JOB SUMMARY:

To act as patient advocate, providing continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through collaboration with other members of the health care team and supporting the philosophy, objectives and goals of the facility. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing the needs of individual patients including but not limited to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

PA Registered Nurse License

Minimum of 3 years work experience as an Inpatient Registered Nurse

Orthopaedic Experience is a plus

BLS/ACLS Certified

RESPONSIBILITES:

Acknowledge a customers presence immediately by making eye contact, smiling, and using their names whenever possible

Warmly greet and respond to others in the hallways, elevators and in other areas provide directions. If it involves more than two turns, escort them, Answer the telephone with a smile, identifying your department and yourself and speaking in a professional, friendly tone

Keep patients and their families informed about their care in a timely manner. Keep customers up-to date concerning any delay in care and provide a timeframe for addressing concerns

Listen with your full attention. Speak in a manner that is appropriate for the customer.

Anticipate patients' needs to minimize the use of call lights, Acknowledge call lights within one minute. All employees are responsible for answering patient call lights.

Nursing care is based on standards of patient care, Nursing care is prioritized based on assessment of patient's immediate condition or needs

The patient and/or significant other(s) is involved in the patient's care as appropriate, the nurse collaborates with the patient, family, physician and other clinical disciplines in making decisions regarding each patient's need for nursing care.

Initiates the Nursing Care Plan with identified patient problems (utilizing nursing diagnosis),expected outcomes and nursing intervention

Records patient's response to hospitalization, treatments, and nursing intervention on the patient care record, documents medications, treatments and nursing interventions on appropriate chart forms, completes Discharge Instruction Sheet as appropriate.
