Requirements: 5+ years working exp. as a Dimensional Engineer responsible for developing a robust dimensional process to manufacture aerospace investment castings. The individual will support new product development and improvement of existing products. Improvements will be made through the use of their knowledge of investment casting, injection molding, metrology, statistics, and machining. This position requires someone with Casting exp., strong knowledge of GD&T and AS9102. Demonstrate ability for data driven problem solving (statistics), continuous improvement mentality, and a strong can-do attitude.

Summary: Dimensional Engineer is responsible for developing Improvements will be made through the use of their knowledge of investment casting, injection molding, metrology, statistics, and machining. Problem solving, the concepts, and tools of problem solving are essential to the job. Engineers will be required to: identify/define problems, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to problems that affect yield, rework, and overall quality of the product using a standardized approach (PDCA, Six-Sigma). Knowledge and application of statistics. Occasionally take a leadership role in resolving cross-functional problems.

Essential job functions

Responsible for control of dimensional quality (dimensions meet the blueprint) of casting. Continuous improvement of process/product such that the castings meet or exceed customer expectations.

Responsible for the construction of all dies (shrink factor analysis), gages, and support tooling needed to produce and inspect cores, wax patterns, and castings.

Communicate with tooling vendors to design concepts for wax pattern die, the build of gate dies and support fixtures.

Interface with tooling vendors and company purchasing to produce a quality tool/die at a competitive price.

Interpret customer drawings, specifications, blueprints, models (CAD/NX), and layout reports.

Improve process control.
