Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Construction Superintendent to join our team and play a crucial role in delivering exceptional construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects on site within scope, timeline, and budget while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Construction Superintendent at J&L Builders, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage resources, and maintain clear communication with subcontractors, clients and stakeholders on multiple projects.

Job duties:

Plan, schedule, and manage construction projects onsite from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety, quality, and timelines.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.

Review project plans and coordinate the scope of work, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.

Monitor project progress and safety and identify potential risks or issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution.

Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

Provide regular project updates to the J&L Project Manager, addressing any concerns or changes in project scope.

Participate in project meetings and facilitate effective communication among team members and subcontractors.

Evaluate project performance onsite against key metrics and objectives, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure all project documentation, permits, as-builts and regulatory requirements are properly maintained in the field.

Mentor and supervise onsite project team members and subcontractors, providing guidance, and feedback.

Ability to create, update and execute a Microsoft Project schedule when handed a set of plans.

Identify, facilitate, and understand RFIs, submittals and schedules for proper execution.

Work schedule: Full-time salary, may require weekend and shift work depending upon project requirements.

Other duties as required.Qualifications:

2 years of experience as Construction Superintendent within the commercial construction industry.

Proficient knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and best practices.

Strong understanding of Construction Superintendent principles and methodologies.

Proven ability to manage project schedules, safety and quality effectively.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Proficiency in software and tools. Software currently utilized are: Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build.

Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.

Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.

Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.

Travel requirements: must have a valid drivers license and must be insurable by the Companys insurance carrier. Travel based on jobsite locations within the surrounding Sacramento Valley Region.
