Position Summary:

Norfolk Crush is a facility that processes 110k bushels of soybeans daily into soybean oil, soybean meal, and soy hull pellets. The Plant Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the financial and accounting activities related to the operations of the newly formed organization. Plant Controllers will be responsible for accurately recording, reconciling, and reporting grain transactions, inventory, and financial data. This role requires a strong understanding of both GAAP and agricultural commodities trading, in addition to effective leadership and communication.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform and manage general accounting activities including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital spending, and payroll processes.

Assist the CFO with the accurate and timely weekly/monthly/annual financial statement close processes, including variance analysis and ad hoc reporting.

Assist with developing financial and operational reports and KPI’s for Senior Management.

Assist the CFO and Senior Management with forecasting and annual budgets.

Work with CFO in developing and maintaining internal control procedures to mitigate risk and reduce negative variance to forecast/plan.

Manage accounting activities related to grain operations by assisting in the development and supervision in the recording of settlements, reconciling rail and truck shipments, and balancing open positions, and marketing positions on a systematic cadence.

Direct and oversee critical book-to-physical inventory reconciliations for all raw, in-progress, and finished products.

Ensure discount schedules and storage rates are set up and functioning properly.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements, including Imagine Nebraska.

Assist the CFO with all treasury functions as necessary.

Assist the CFO with tracking and reporting of all city and state incentive programs.

Assist the CFO with the annual financial statement audit, tax filings, and any other ad hoc regulatory licensing and reporting.

Assist the CFO and Senior Management with ad hoc reporting in a start-up environment to ensure operations are monitored appropriately.

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

At least ten (10) years’ related experience preferred.

Must have effective oral and written communication across different levels and departments.

Market-to-Market experience in a high-volume environment preferred.

Excellent skills with Microsoft Suite, specifically on Excel and Data Analytics.

Experience with Great Plains, Bamboo, Intellego, and CinchX preferred.
