Our Homeless Veteran’s Reintegration Program (HVRP) works to assist veterans who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless in finding employment. This role is designed to work directly with our participants under the direction of the Director of CoC Program Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Conduct and participate in outreach activities/efforts as assigned including conducting outreach attempts with local shelters, food banks, veteran organizations (VSOs, DVOPs), etc.

Determine program eligibility, process intake, enrollment, and employment development/placement. Maintain accurate, up-to-date case files on each program participant. Maintain compliance with the organization’s guidelines, policies, and the Department of Labor VETS regulations.

Assist program participants with identifying aptitudes, strengths, and areas that need improvement. Assist participants with determining goals and objectives. Develop Individual Employment Plans and help establish connections to resources that will assist the participants reach their goals. Assist Veteran with development of resumes/cover letters and provide job readiness training.

Develop employment opportunities for enrolled Veterans, provide mock-interview preparation for established interviews, facilitate meet & greets with employers and conduct outreach to employers.

Counsel participants about employment and facilitate appropriate linkages between the veteran and community resource agencies. Advocate on behalf of veteran with these agencies.

Assist participants with resolving possible barriers to employment such as housing, transportation issues, childcare, and medical needs.

Co-facilitate weekly job club with other HVRP team members. Help design curriculum and develop partnerships with community partners and or local businesses and schedule speakers.

Provide training, develop a system that works for each participant, and project partner. Research additional funding opportunities to support client goals or removal of barriers to those goals.

Network with and maintain a positive relationship with CareerSource, WIOA providers and Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) partners to identify training and employment opportunities and to co-refer Veterans.

Stay informed of community, agency, and program information through inter-office communications, attendance at staff meetings, participation in professional development activities and other community events

Complete other assignments as requested by any Directors

· Must be able to multi-task.

· Must have excellent research skills with attention to detail.

· Must have excellent organizational skills.

· Preference to those who are Bi-Lingual.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (Pending on position and if prior to hire is approved by Executive Director, a comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum education qualifications)

A bachelor’s degree in human services, Public Administration, Social Work, or related field; or

Equivalent background with five (5) years of experience working with homelessness, poverty, housing, mental health and human services.

Experience working with the indigent population preferred but not required.
