Process Development Engineer

Aegis is seeking a Process Engineer to join a client of ours in Grottoes, VA. Please see below information about the position and apply if you would be a good fit.

The role of the Senior Process Engineer in the Grottoes VA Plant will be responsible for maintaining quality standards, improving department profitability, and driving process efficiency. Responsibilities include developing process methods and controls, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment, managing capital projects, and leading new equipment trials. The engineer must possess hands-on experience and be comfortable working closely with operators on the floor.

Bachelors degree in Engineering (preferably in a related discipline)

3-5+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing process engineering- blow film and bag-making process knowledge preferable

Proficiency in Computer Skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, SAP ( or other ERP systems), and advanced software like AutoCAD (or another CAD software)

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Willingness to be hands-on, work closely with operators, and have a deep understanding of production processes.

Open to 50% domestic travel as needed for business requirements.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing processes and concepts

Nice to Have:

Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies, preferably with a Green Belt certification.

Experience with statistical process control and data collection (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)

Previous involvement in cost reduction and process improvement projects.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and establish priorities effectively.
