A chain of nursing homes is looking to immediately hire several Doctors of Optometry (OD) for a per-diem/part-time/full-time position in Scranton and other locations, Pennsylvania. A minimum of 1 year of experience as an optometrist is required. The annual starting salary for full-time is $160,000 plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a generous benefits package.
The job responsibilities may include but are not limited to diagnosing, treating, and managing eye diseases and disorders. Other job description includes:
1. Conducting comprehensive eye exams to evaluate vision and detect eye diseases or disorders.
2. Prescribing corrective lenses, such as glasses or contact lenses, to improve vision.
3. Diagnosing and treating eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
4. Providing pre-and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
5. Prescribing medications to treat eye infections or inflammation.
6. Educating patients on proper eye care practices to maintain good vision health.
7. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, to provide comprehensive patient care.
8. Managing patient records and maintaining accurate documentation of treatments provided.
9. Staying up to date with advancements in optometry technology and techniques through continuing education courses.
