The Compliance Coordinator, in collaboration with the Sr. Director of People Operations and Compliance will serve as the primary lead for TVHC's compliance program. This role is crucial in developing systems for the consistent handling of violations in regulations, policies, protocols, and procedures. The Coordinator is responsible for conducting internal investigations, performing root-cause analyses, and ensuring compliance with notice requirements where applicable.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday hours.

This position is temporary with an expected duration of up to six months of employment.

Compensation: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour, includes differential pay in lieu of benefits.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates the daily activities of the Compliance department to ensure efficient operation

Supports the ongoing development, refinement, implementation, measurement, and enhancement of TVHC's compliance programs

Regularly documents activities and provides comprehensive reports on the status of the compliance program to the Sr. Director of People Operations and Compliance for further communication to the CEO and Board of Directors

In conjunction with supervisor, develops and implements a written plan that describes the Compliance Department.

Writes, implements, maintains, and revises policies and procedures to ensure the operations of the Compliance Program adhere to legal and ethical standards

Leads and participates in teams that identify and implement best-known compliance practices to achieve and maintain optimal compliance outcomes

Ensures ongoing adherence to all relevant guidelines, such as those from HRSA and other key regulatory associations

Develops and administers effective compliance training programs for new and existing employees

With the Sr Director of People Operations & Compliance, leads and guides the HRSA Operational Site Visit, along with CFO, Director Finance and the Sr. Director of Population Health and Quality

Manages and enhances the compliance communication program, including the promotion of the Compliance Hotline, awareness of Standards of Conduct, and understanding of HIPAA rules

Coordinates the distribution and revision tracking of policies, compiling reports for monthly Board approval and quarterly summaries for all staff

Interprets regulations and standards, educates staff, drafts necessary policy changes, and presents best practices to minimize compliance liabilities

Serves as the lead for all external and internal compliance audits, ensuring that corrective actions are documented and implemented effectively

Collaborates with various departments to support the implementation of compliance monitoring and review audits as required by regulatory agencies

Manages TVHC's vendor contracts, ensuring monitoring of key contract dates

Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting (a) use of the Compliance Hotline (Lighthouse); (b) heightened awareness of Standards of Conduct and HIPAA rules, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures

Responsible for assuring maintenance of compliance and risk management intranet resources

Interprets regulations, standards and laws, educates, investigates, drafts policies, builds a business case for necessary changes, researches and presents best practices, leads projects to reduce barriers to care and mitigate problems and liabilities

Works closely with the Practice Management on Emergency Preparedness and monthly Safety Meetings

Works with the Human Resources Department and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance training program

Will serve as a consultant for employee disciplinary matters involving policy violations as needed

Co-Chairs the monthly Compliance Workgroup meetings and collaborates with management and staff to identify, review and support the implementation of compliance monitoring and audits as required by HRSA, Patient Centered Medical Home, Meaningful Use, and health plan programs

Stores and maintains the TVHC's vendor contracts, ensuring key dates of contracts are monitored

Performs all duties in accordance with TVHC's Service Excellence Standards

Assumes other duties, including special projects, as assigned, or needed

Requirements

High School Diploma required, AA Preferred.

Minimum of two years' experience working directly with corporate compliance, legal or risk management and/or in a healthcare setting required.

Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) a significant plus.

Qualifications:

Extensive knowledge and understanding of standards and relevant legislation, laws, regulations, precedents, and protocol of clinical practice, preferred in a Federally Qualified Health Care setting highly preferred.

Familiarity with operational, financial, and general personnel procedures and regulations required

Must be able to work independently

Must be able to make decisions utilizing information based on regulations, and gained through investigation, and research

Knowledge of comparative databases and reporting requirements, EHR systems strongly preferred.

Capacity to work at a fast pace with multiple priorities and deadlines

Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

Able to work well with all levels of diverse work force
