Burner Technician (Senior Level)

American Combustion Industries (ACI) - ACI provides a total set of solutions and services for industrial, commercial, and institutional customers in Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and the Mid-Atlantic region.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Burner Technician (Senior Level) or a Senior Maintenance Tradesman (HVAC) to join our growing service team. You will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of commercial and industrial boilers, related systems, and other mechanical equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of combustion equipment, troubleshooting expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Perform installation, service, and repair tasks on industrial and commercial combustion equipment, including boilers, burners, and combustion control systems.

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with combustion equipment and related mechanical systems.

Effectively communicate with customers and management to provide updates and recommendations regarding system repairs and upgrades.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and apprentices.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of experience working on commercial and industrial boiler equipment.

In-depth knowledge of water-tube and fire-tube high-pressure steam boilers, including their operation and maintenance principles.

Understanding of full metering systems and their role in combustion efficiency.

Working knowledge of parallel positioning combustion control systems, such as Auto-flame, Siemens, or Nexus (or similar).

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on efficient troubleshooting and resolution.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform tasks requiring reaching, handling, and feeling objects.

Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 pounds.

Must have good vision, correctable to 20/20, and be able to distinguish colors.

Ability to work safely at heights, including climbing and maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolds.

Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
