Position: Cerner INA Clinical Consultant

Location: Remote with 25%-50% Travel

Employment Type: W2 Only (No third-party/C2C consultants)

Experience Required: Minimum 5-10 years with Cerner implementation, ideally 10 years

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cerner Consultant with strong build and troubleshooting experience to join our consulting team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cerner order and PowerPlan builds, leading solution design sessions, and implementing full life cycle Cerner projects. This role requires hands-on experience in Clinical Documentation, Orders, Inpatient Nursing, and the ability to work effectively with large, multi-facility healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

Serve as the lead for the Cerner functional module, conducting client workshop sessions and driving the overall design of the module.

Collaborate with clients on data collection and requirements gathering.

Develop work plans and coordinate logistics for design workshops.

Work with clients to prepopulate the core Design Configuration Workbook (DCW) and prepare for workshops.

Facilitate a "day-in-the-life" session with the client to ensure comprehensive understanding of workflows.

Create UAT (User Acceptance Testing) test plans and scripts, and lead design sessions including Fit/Gap Analysis with the client.

Manage open design gaps and issues, collaborating with the client and Cerner to find solutions.

Produce Design Specification Documents for client approval.

Provide guidance to build, testing, and training teams throughout implementation.

Support project management activities, including weekly status reporting, work plan updates, and issue and risk management.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum 5-10 years in design/build/implementation of inpatient nursing and ancillaries; ideally 10 years.

Technical Skills: Strong experience with Cerner order and PowerPlan build, troubleshooting, and full life cycle Cerner projects.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead solution design sessions and collaborate with clients.

Industry Experience: Experience in Clinical Documentation, Orders, Inpatient Nursing, and working with large, multi-facility healthcare systems.

Project Management: Basic project management skills to lead meetings, mitigate risks, and handle multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements: COVID vaccinated, must be W2, with 25%-50% travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Nursing Background: Previous experience in nursing installations with Cerner Millennium EHR.

Experience with Design Manager: Previous use of Design Manager in a healthcare environment.
