We are looking for an engineering draftsman to produce, maintain and manage the informational drawings and processes for Custom Cable products.

Responsibilities:

Maintain a competency level of the current drafting software being used by the company (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.)

Ability to understand, envision and apply the necessary skills that will result in a finished product which successfully translates the product requirements and details necessary for manufacturing to replicate the assembly.

Deliver a consistent drawing product that follows established conventions determined by the company. Utilize internal drafting tools, templates and drawing references.

Work with product engineer(s) to ensure final product meets the customer’s product requirements.

Maintain product drawing files in specified storage folder locations.

Maintain scanned electronic copies of product drawing files and related data in specified storage folders.

Release approved product drawing files for manufacturing access.

Assist manufacturing with drawing clarifications as necessary in conjunction with product or manufacturing engineer approval.

Maintain current facility drawing floor plan for fire exits, fire extinguisher locations, departmental locations and furniture arrangements.

Update drawing files to current conventions as necessary including, but not limited to, notes, find numbers, preparation information and details.

Assist manufacturing as necessary on specific labeling requirements and / or label projects.

Create and maintain specific drawing files and information for customer internet reference sites.

Collaborate with engineers and other team members to develop detailed design drawings.

Revise and modify designs based on feedback and requirements.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

3+ years AutoCAD experience in cable and harness configurations

Familiar with company computer operating systems

Familiar with copper and fiber cable constructions, various manufacturer’s connector components and assembly details.

Working knowledge of industry and company standard assembly practices.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Prior experience in manufacturing or engineering is a plus.
