Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Overview: As a Paralegal at our firm, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our legal team in the management of personal injury cases. You will work closely with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that cases progress smoothly and efficiently through the legal process. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support to our clients.

Responsibilities:

Case Management:

Assist attorneys in all phases of case management, from initial client intake to resolution.

Maintain case files, ensuring all relevant documents and correspondence are organized and up-to-date.

Calendar deadlines, hearings, and other important dates to ensure timely case progression.

Conduct legal research and gather supporting documentation as needed for case preparation.

Client Communication:

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case status and addressing inquiries.

Prepare and send correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in cases.

Schedule client meetings, depositions, and other appointments as necessary.

Document Preparation and Review:

Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.

Review and summarize medical records, police reports, and other relevant documents.

Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and other trial-related materials.

Legal Support:

Assist attorneys during trial preparations, including witness coordination and exhibit preparation.

Coordinate with experts, investigators, and other external parties as needed for case development.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical and professional standards.

Administrative Tasks:

Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and filing documents.

Coordinate with court personnel, process servers, and other legal professionals as required.

Assist in billing and invoicing activities, tracking billable hours and expenses related to cases.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certification from an accredited institution preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal in a personal injury firm or similar legal setting highly desirable.

Proficiency in legal research, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules related to personal injury law.
