Asphalt Operations Manager

Location: Nashville, TN

Our client, a leading asphalt contractor, is seeking a seasoned Asphalt Operations Manager in Nashville, TN.

Benefits:

Compensation range: $110,000 - 150,000.

Bonus opportunity: 5% of net profit on each job.

The company provides a company truck and gas card.

Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate and supervise asphalt paving projects; including scheduling, resource allocation, and materials management.

Oversee four to five projects a week, on average.

Supervise and mentor a team of asphalt crew members, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety protocols.

Oversee the preparation of construction sites, ensuring proper grading, compaction, and layout to meet project specifications.

Monitor and inspect work progress, verifying compliance with quality standards and making necessary adjustments to maintain project timelines and deliver exceptional results.

Enforce strict adherence to safety guidelines and regulations, promoting a culture of safety among all team members and subcontractors.

Strategically recruit and assist in retaining personnel.

Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities.

Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule.

Evaluate the effectiveness and performance of field personnel and their crews.

Requirements:

5-10+ years of experience in asphalt paving or a related field.

Proven track record of managing and successfully completing paving projects.

Ability to supervise and provide strategic leadership to field personnel.

Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and blueprints.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry, with a commitment to promoting and enforcing a culture of safety.

High-level organizational skills with multi-tasking capabilities.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project-related challenges.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Ability to build rapport within and outside the company.
