Role Details:

Job Title: Azure Cloud Architect

Overview: The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. This role requires expertise in Azure services, architecture principles, and best practices to enable organizations to leverage cloud technologies effectively. The Azure Cloud Architect collaborates with stakeholders to understand business requirements, design scalable and resilient cloud architectures, and lead the implementation of cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities:

Cloud Solution Design:

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives, translating them into scalable and secure cloud architectures.

Design Azure solutions that meet performance, availability, scalability, and security requirements, leveraging a wide range of Azure services and technologies.

Develop architectural diagrams, design documents, and technical specifications to communicate cloud architectures to stakeholders.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Implementation:

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps pipelines to automate the provisioning and management of Azure resources.

Define and manage Azure resource configurations, including virtual networks, compute instances, storage, databases, and security policies, using declarative templates.

Cloud Migration and Hybrid Integration:

Lead the migration of on-premises workloads and applications to the Azure cloud, following best practices for lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or re-architecting as necessary.

Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions that seamlessly integrate on-premises infrastructure with Azure services, ensuring connectivity, data synchronization, and security.

Security and Compliance:

Implement security controls and best practices to protect Azure resources and data, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, encryption, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and remediate security risks in Azure environments.

Performance Optimization and Cost Management:

Monitor Azure resource utilization, performance metrics, and cost patterns to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.

Implement performance tuning techniques, such as scaling, caching, and load balancing, to optimize the performance and efficiency of Azure solutions.

Disaster Recovery and High Availability:

Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) solutions for Azure workloads, including backup, replication, failover, and recovery procedures.

Test and validate DR and HA configurations to ensure readiness and resilience in the event of outages or disasters.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security teams, to ensure alignment and integration of cloud solutions with organizational goals and requirements.

Share knowledge and best practices with team members through documentation, training sessions, and workshops to promote continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.

Proven experience as a cloud architect or similar role, with expertise in designing and implementing cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.

Deep understanding of Azure services, architecture patterns, and best practices for cloud-native design and development.

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and techniques, such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure DevOps.

Strong understanding of cloud security principles, compliance requirements, and data protection mechanisms in Azure.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

Experience with hybrid cloud integration, performance optimization, and disaster recovery planning in Azure environments.
