TITLE: Controls Engineer

LOCATION: Mukilteo, WA (Hyrbid)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time Direct-Hire

PAY RANGE: $130-180K

*Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for an innovative robotics company which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in electrical and controls system design looking to further their career in aerospace robotics!

Research, select, and apply sensors, communication technologies, or control devices for motion control, position sensing, pressure sensing, or electronic communication.

Create, review, and maintain electrical design documentation such as schematic diagrams and layout documents.

Troubleshoot and resolve electromechanical issues. This includes work with common tools such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc.

Understand, develop, and debug low-level software routines as well as system-wide software architectures.

Perform system setup and commissioning of company products for deployment at customer sites or at company’s workshop.

Manages outside projects and or teams when necessary. Engages with the outside world in areas relevant to the company; leverages existing capabilities of outside firms, experts, and institutions to the project's advantage.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field.

3+ years’ experience with controls and systems engineering.

Demonstrated experience with robotics controls. Aerospace preferred.

Previous experience in a start-up or R&D environment preferred.

Experience with SolidWorks, Catia, Altium, or similar for electrical and mechanical design.

Experience with PLC programming and safety controllers. Siemens product experience preferred.

Motor tuning procedures for many classes of motors, especially DC brushless servos and associated PID tuning for point-to-point and free-running applications. This includes the ability to troubleshoot poorly performing motor systems and apply solutions through improved tuning parameters or techniques.
