Description

We are looking for a Logistics Analyst to join our mission-driven team. As an integral part of

the Operations team, you will join forces with the Director of Operations (to whom you will also

report) in our continued effort to inspire people to eat more plants! We’re looking for an

experienced Logistics Analyst to oversee shipping and delivery of products to customers,

facilitate deliveries and transfers of raw ingredients and packaging to our two fulfillment

partners’ facilities (Chicago and Las Vegas, NV), manage carrier relationships, drive continuous

improvement, and provide meaningful reporting and analytics.

You will be eager to get into the details of the data, proactive approach to identify and

improve inefficiencies, and be comfortable supporting logistics for the Operations team.

Location

Up to 3 days/week onsite presence at our Chicago fulfillment partner, currently located near Pilsen, to be ~20 minutes south of downtown Chicago after Q3

Travel: Occasional travel (local and overnight) possible to other fulfillment partner sites, carrier locations, and/or our Needham, MA HQ

On the Plate

Carrier Relationship Management

Support all aspects of carrier relations including performance management, leading weekly/monthly meetings, regular check-ins, and peak/holiday planning

Assist activities related to carrier evaluation, including onboarding and offboarding carriers to and from our network, and vetting business development opportunities (RFPs/RFQs)

Order Management

Deliver weekly transportation plan as part of customer order management process - coordinate pick-up schedules, volumes, and equipment requirements with carriers and fulfillment partners

Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to optimize weekly pickups, manage 3PL deliveries, and warehouse LTL/FTL transfers and deliveries.

Escalate shipping-related concerns such as late or missed pick-ups and injections or carrier service disruptions, and support recovery efforts

Reporting and Analysis

Support internal transportation meetings, update internal scorecards, and present at Weekly Business Review

Leverage insights from our transportation analytics partners to drive meaningful action including creation of internal dashboards and new KPIs

Ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from internal teams

Financial

Audit transportation invoices, taking action to resolve discrepancies or inaccuracies

Monitor last-mile deliveries, costs, and other metrics, ensuring attainment to budget and implementing corrective action plans

Process Improvement

Work cross-functionally with Customer Experience (CX), Fulfillment Partners, and Carriers to deep-dive customer complaints, and develop long-term solutions

Proactively and independently evaluates carriers, capabilities, shipping schedules, financials, and existing processes and brings improvement ideas

Main Ingredients for the Role

Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent

3+ years’ Analyst experience in a Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain role, experience with temperature controlled or perishable products preferred. D2C/E-comm, a plus.

Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience with BI tools (i.e Looker) required

Strong knowledge of transportation laws, regulations, and best practices

Experience reporting logistics and transportation data (ex. carrier performance) using scorecards, dashboards, and KPIs

Strong problem solving skills - ability to think quickly and make recommendations/decisions with little information that takes into account customer experience and business cost

Detail-oriented and organized

Self-starter okay with a high-level of autonomy

Effective written and verbal communicator with external partners and internal leaders across functions

Available to respond to occasional phone calls/emails during off-shift hours including evenings and weekends

Extra Special Sauce

Import/export experience

API or EDI experience

Transportation Management System (TMS) experience

SQL skills a plus
