SUMMARY:

The firewall engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining firm’s Palo Alto firewall systems and related software and hardware.

Firewall engineers will also be responsible for working very closely with the firm’s Information security team for protecting the network from unauthorized access, cyberattacks, and malicious traffic.

Firewall engineers also monitor and troubleshoot firewall performance, perform audits and assessments, and update firewall policies and rules.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Design and implement and maintain Palo Alto firewall solutions that meet the security and performance requirements of the organization.

Install, configure, and maintain firewall systems and related software and hardware like VPNs, IDS/IPS, and proxies.

Monitor and analyze firewall logs and network traffic to identify and resolve security issues and incidents.

Perform firewall audits and assessments to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

Update and document firewall policies and rules and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.

Provide technical support and guidance to network administrators, security analysts, and other IT staff on firewall-related matters.

Research and evaluate innovative technologies and products and recommend improvements and upgrades.

Coordinate with vendors and service providers on firewall support, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

Effective communication skills to directly collaborate with users and Helpline to troubleshoot Firewall related connectivity issues.

Responding to emergency situations and performing effective troubleshooting during any user production issues.

Must be flexible to work outside of business hours as per business requirements.

Must have a good networking background and understanding.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.

At least 5+ years in managing global firewall infrastructure, preferably in a law firm environment.

Minimal 5+ years of experience managing enterprise security technologies; IDS/IPS systems, firewalls, antivirus, enterprise vulnerability scanning technology, data at rest encryption technologies, and other technologies used to secure electronic data in the enterprise.

Proficient in Palo Alto firewall technologies and products. Knowledge of network protocols, standards, and architectures, such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN, NAT, and OSI model.

Ability to troubleshoot, resolve complex network, and firewall issues.

Ability to perform firewall audits and assessments and generate reports and recommendations.

Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to work independently but comply with direction as needed.

Strong writing and oral communication skills, effective listening, presentation, and facilitation skills

Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the firm.

Initiative-taking self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

Able to multi-task and handle unstructured environment.

Demonstrated attention to detail, strong analytical, troubleshooting skills and good business judgment.

Ability to deal effectively with change in a demanding environment.

Must be well organized, work independently, comprehend business requirements, and proactively identify systems and reporting capabilities to address those requirements.

Must be result-oriented, dependable, adhere to established time commitments and demonstrate strong customer service attributes and the ability to deliver results.

Certifications in network security or firewall administration, such as CCNA Security, CCNP Security, PCNSE, NSE, CCSA, or JNCIS-SEC, are preferred.
