Revenue Accountant

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Revenue Accountant for a contract to hire opportunity with a financial services client.

Responsibilities:

Enter, review, and update of journal entries for customer details and review of all significant customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and the company’s accounting policy.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts to the General Ledger.

Revenue Share monthly calculations.

Coordinate with the revenue accounting team, finance team, and sales operations team to learn the company’s revenue streams and product offerings.

Significant coordination with the revenue accounting team to ensure accurate updates to journal entries to include additional customer level details to enhance reporting capabilities and align outcome to month end close procedures.

Other project work as necessary - this is inclusive of revenue share agreements, system implementations, and process improvements based on learnings.

Qualifications:

Certified Public Accountant (preference, not required).

Bachelor’s or master’s in accounting.

3-5 years of related experience in accounting (Big 4 or large regional external audit experience preferred).

Knowledge of Oracle R12.

Experience with revenue recognition accounting literature.

Ownership of work, multi-tasking, and prioritization skillset a must.

Ability to manage multiple projects and financial responsibilities to meet goals and objectives.

Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft office and HFM preferred.
