The Environmental Working Group (EWG), a leading environmental health research and advocacy organization, seeks a senior UX designer for its Washington, D.C., office.

Since 1993, EWG has shined a spotlight on outdated legislation, harmful agricultural practices and industry loopholes that pose a risk to our health and the health of the environment.

As a senior UX designer, you will play a key role on our Experience team shaping the user experience of our digital products, ensuring they align with our mission to protect health and the environment.

We are looking for a true steward of Human Centered Design, capable of jumping in along every phase of the UX design process from user research to high-fidelity mockups, having the greatest impact on our cross-disciplined team of designers and developers.

What you will do:

Lead the strategy and design of intuitive and visually appealing digital products.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define design requirements and user stories.

Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for various digital platforms.

Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs.

Ensure consistent brand representation and user experience across all digital products.

Collaborate with developers to implement and refine designs.

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on digital platforms.

Proven track record of successfully bringing digital products from concept to design.

Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.

Strong portfolio showcasing UX/UI projects and design thinking.

Experience with user research and usability testing methodologies.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics and user experience.

Comfortable managing multiple projects with varying complexities.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in a nonprofit or advocacy organization is a plus.

Ability to translate design mockups into pixel-perfect HTML, CSS, JavaScript templates.
