Qualifications:

Technical:

A Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering MIS, or Computer Science preferred.

7+ years Microsoft and Windows server deployment / systems administration experience.

3+ years deploying Office 365 or Azure.

3+ years in a customer support role.

Microsoft certifications preferred.

A minimum of 2 years leading team members in a supervisory capacity.

Job Description:

The Microsoft 365 and Azure Practice Manager is responsible for leading a team of consultants to provide Modern Workplace and Azure project consulting services to customers, ongoing support to existing customers, and overseeing internal FMT IT support. This position will manage a growing team of high performing individuals. The role encompasses team leadership including mentoring and managing the team, directing work, serving as an escalation resource, and leading technical pre-sales efforts. As part of this role, continuous improvement is important to optimize project and support processes and systems to improve service to FMT’s customers.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience and a background in IT consulting or customer support in an IT environment. The Microsoft 365 and Azure practice Manager will utilize best practices and methodologies to design, implement, upgrade, and support IT infrastructure and Microsoft solutions for clients. This team supports a wide variety of functionality including Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Azure, cloud security, and IT networking and infrastructure. This team also interacts closely with other Microsoft Platform consultants and leaders delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 and business applications solutions.

The ideal candidate will also have strong communication, organization skills, and leadership experience developing others. As well as having the ability to work with Microsoft leadership to grow and continuously improve the Microsoft Platform team and FMT Consultants.

Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate workload across team members and assign and oversee project work and FMT internal IT support tasks.

Assist clients with the design, implementation, and support of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Office 365 email migrations, Azure AD, Intune, Azure infrastructure and platform as a service deployments, Microsoft cloud security, installation and upgrades of Dynamics GP, SQL server, Windows server, and general system administration.

Assist clients with IT infrastructure solutions, including PCs, servers, SANs, switches, and firewalls.

Research, recommend, and adhere to improvements in architectural infrastructure standards; strive for optimal design and drive standardization within the team.

Produce detailed documentation of technical deployments, and Microsoft 365 and Azure assessment results, including business solutions, infrastructure, and processes.

Directly interact with client’s managers, directors, and C-level executives on challenging projects and when escalation is needed.

Set goals and manage team members to assist with their professional development growth and to ensure that they are highly engaged.

Work with sales in a pre-sales engineering role to describe technologies and offerings to potential clients and to design and estimate solutions.

Work with other Microsoft leaders to manage cross-team project resources, collaborate on diverse projects and support, define the vision, and grow the M365+Azure Practice and the Microsoft Platform team.

Review and approve timesheet entries and expense report submissions.

As part of the management team, provide insight as to ways FMT can continue to grow and improve.

Ensure KPI reports are delivered for managed services clients, as well as ensuring that daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly proactive support tasks are completed.

Interact with and manage offshore team members or contractors as needed.

Work both on site and remotely to support clients.

Provide technical training to client’s IT administrators and end-users.

Interact with FMT’s Zendesk ticketing system to assign and update cases and create knowledge base documentation.

Write blogs, offers, and other content to contribute to FMT’s marketing efforts.
