Position - Software Developer

The Senior Developer will be engaged on key company projects and extensions of existing applications that support Intertek’s Business Assurance business. This position is based out of Intertek’s Mumbai IT Center.

Responsible for understanding business requirements and functional designs, turn those into system technical requirements, producing technical designs, coding applications and unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and turn those into system technical requirements.

• Develop systems as defined into business and technical requirements.

• Optimize and tune the performance of the application by analyzing the weak performing areas.

• Code review

• Suggest improvements in the system/process.

• Unit testing

Qualifications

• BE or B Tech preferably in Computer Science or IT

or

MSc IT or MCA

Work Experience

At least 5+ years of experience developing and implementing application using the Dot.NET and SQL server environment

• .NET framework 4.0/4.5

• C#.NET / VB.NET

• ASP.NET MVC

• Web Services

• ORM - Entity Framework

• LINQ

• HTML/CSS

• HTML5/CSS3

• JavaScript / jQuery / AJAX

• ASP.NET MVC

• WCF/Web API

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008+ (Data table design, queries, stored procedures, and views)

• Knowledge of Team Foundation Server (or other source control systems and source control procedures).

The following technical skills are desirable but not mandatory for the position:

• End component development, including window services, web services and console applications

• 3rd party controls libraries – e.g. Telerik

• Effective written and oral communication skills in English, as interfacing with other IT team members will be required.

• Strong understanding of overall development lifecycle

• Hands-on experience with performance tuning
