Piping Stress Engineer

Role & Responsibilities:

As a Piping Stress Engineer, you'll be responsible for completing work on oil refinery projects, LNG plant projects, and/or gas processing plant projects. This includes:

- Coordinating with PJ on stress analysis with clients, other disciplines, piping layout engineers, and engineering subcontractors.

- Conducting piping stress analysis according to relevant international codes and/or project specifications/guidelines.

- Monitoring the status and schedule of piping stress analysis activities.

- Checking subcontractors' engineering products.

- Preparing work instructions and procedures for stress analysis.

- Reviewing vendors' drawings.

- Reviewing ISO drawings regarding piping stress analysis.

- Designing piping support.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

- At least 5 years of experience as a piping stress engineer in EPC firms.

- Familiarity with ASME B31.3 and other relevant codes and standards such as ASME, API, MSS, NEMA, etc.

- Proficiency in operating CAESAR II and Navisworks.

- Reviewing and analyzing piping systems connected to various equipment such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, reactors, etc.

- Selecting and developing special/miscellaneous piping support arrangements based on stress analysis requirements.

- Verifying strength for standard and special supports.

- Generating Stress Critical Line List, stress analysis reports, and documentation.

- Reviewing vendor documents for mechanical specialty items.

- Creating Structural Loading Data for racks, structures, and platform loading for equipment.

- Preparing specifications/data-sheets for specialty items such as springs, expansion joints, etc.

- Conducting flange leakage analysis.

- Performing module/FPSO sea transportation analysis and fatigue analysis of piping systems.
