Senior Design Engineer

Crane India has an opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer ( VAVE ) at our at our Design Centre, Baner, Pune.

Responsibilities :

Design package development for Industrial valves specifically for Check valves following New Product Development stage gate process

Leading VAVE design activities and collaborating with operations team to drive cost reduction ideas

Responsible for creating and improving design calculation process/template for a set of solution

Create 3D CAD models and Manufacturing drawings independently, Review Customer submittal drawings for Customer orders (ETO) and approve Standard Customer submittal drawings

Carry out Advanced FEA (Assembly contact analysis, Fatigue analysis, Structural non-linearity, Modal analysis) and CFD simulations (Cv value) independently to verify Design assumptions

Develop a template for required calculations as per product datasheets (Customer need), Configure to Order and Engineer to Order requirements

Evolve a Top down or Bottom-up approach for 3D CAD models with systematic SOP document.

Responsible for creating SOP for Manufacturability guidelines, Checklist and Peer checking

Responsible to perform part level DFMEAs for existing and new products

Qualifications :

Mechanical Engineering Degree from reputed engineering college with 4-8 years' experience in R&D/ engineering preferably in Mechanical Design and development of Industrial Valves

Hands on experience in 3D Modelling software (SolidWorks) and relevant automation using API

Proficient in GD&T, Tolerance stack-up analysis, DFMA, DFMEA and FEA

Understanding of VAVE process & Functional analysis of a product

Strong knowledge of international engineering and material standards

Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes like sand-casting, lost wax (investment casting), forging, sheet metal and Machining

Desired to have experience in additive manufacturing processes
