Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the Corporate Communications Specialist will be responsible for assisting with identification and the communication of Advocis’ vision and key messages through multiple media channels (social, print, electronic etc.), building the public image and enhancing the brand of Advocis to its target audiences and stakeholders.

· Our team is currently working on a hybrid schedule (2 days in the office, 3 days from home). This may change based on operational needs. Responsibilities include:

· Leverage media to enhance the profile and support the business objectives of Advocis to deepen public and member understanding of our strategic direction and priorities.

· Create, implement, and measure digital initiatives that engage Advocis members, potential members and other audiences

· Create digital media programs that achieve measurable ROI

· Plan, develop, implement, and maintain campaigns across all digital marketing and social media platforms (email, paid search, display, remarketing, social, PR, SEO / SEM, and advertising campaigns)

· Help enhance social media presence by creating and implementing an overall social media and content management strategy and calendar in support of the association’s objectives

· Monitor and report on daily activity on social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) including responding, retweeting

· Monitor and report on media coverage and other developments

· Coordinate Advocis spokesperson(s) interviews with journalists including preparing messaging, training, coaching and briefing spokesperson(s) as required.

· Develop and build presentations along with supporting material.

· Draft press releases and pitch to key journalist contacts

· Respond to media inquiries

· Work closely with our 39+ Chapters as it relates to social media

· Develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns such as our Education Programs, Annual Symposium, Financial Literacy Month campaign, etc.

· Work closely with Business Development and Corporate Partners on Advocis Podcasts

Knowledge/Skills Required:

· 2-5 years of post-secondary education, preferably with a Communications/PR/Media Relations focus

· Expert knowledge of all social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram)

· Proven success managing corporate social media accounts and creating social media content

· Thorough understanding of communications practices and principles

· Strong communication skills, written and verbal

· Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

· Proactive and enthusiastic, self-starter

· Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure

· Experience in the financial services sector is an asset

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
